Several workers’ unions announced their picks for Queens Borough President last week.

On Thursday, the service workers union 32BJ SEIU formally endorsed Council Member Donovan Richards and on Wednesday, the New York transit workers union TWU Local 100 selected former Council Member Elizabeth Crowley as their pick.

Several unions have made endorsements in the special election race thus far.

UFCW Local 1500, which represents grocery store workers, gave Council Member Costa Constantinides their seal of approval in November.

Constantinides also has the endorsement of IUOE Local 94, the union of operating engineers.

Richards — who is the Queens County Democratic Party’s pick — has the most endorsements. New York’s largest public employee union, DC37, has endorsed Richards, as well as Local 372 — which represents NYC Department of Education employees — and the UFT teachers union.

The other candidates running for borough president include police reform advocate Anthony Miranda and former Assistant District Attorney Jim Quinn, as well as Danniel Maio and Dao Yin.

Other unions may come forward to make endorsements in the coming days ahead of the special election on March 24.

Red Storm stars reflect on historic season with fans dreaming of deep run during March Madness

In just his second year at the helm of the St. John’s Red Storm, basketball Hall of Famer Rick Pitino was named Big East Coach of the Year on Wednesday after leading his squad to its first outright regular season conference championship in 40 years and matched a program record 27 regular season victories. The Johnnies lost just four games all season by seven points combined. St. John’s also went an undefeated 18-0 at home for the first time since 1931-32. It earned them their highest national ranking (No. 6) since the 1990-91 season.

Pitino is the first St. John’s coach to be named the Big East’s Coach of the Year since Lou Carnesecca, who died on Saturday, Nov. 30, at age 99 and just five weeks shy of his 100th birthday.
