Dec. 9, 2015 By Jackie Strawbridge

The Court Square Library expansion, which includes new children’s and community space, will open this week.

An opening ceremony is slated at the library, 25-01 Jackson Avenue, for Friday at 4 p.m.

The 1,700 square-foot addition includes an expanded children’s area, as well as program and community space. The new room, which was adjacent to the existing library at One Court Square, was donated by Citi.

The Queens Library said in April that the expansion would be ready this summer. According to spokesperson Joanne King, the opening was pushed back so the space could pass a fire alarm inspection.
