Two people were stabbed—one fatally—outside the Astoria Houses NYCHA complex this morning.

Police received a 911 call at 6:36 a.m. Sunday of an assault in front of 28-02 8th St. Upon arrival, the responding officers discovered a 37-year-old man with stab wounds to the chest and a 34-year-old woman with a stab wound to her back.

EMS transported the man to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst where he was pronounced dead. The woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in Astoria and was listed in stable condition.

Police say that the victims got into a dispute with a man who stabbed them.

The suspect is described as black, in his 30s and was wearing a red shirt and black pants. There have been no arrests.

Police have named the victim as Romeo Bartley, who lived on 8th Street, near the NYCHA complex.
