June 21, 2016 Staff Report
A man stole an intimate object from a Dutch Kills house earlier this month and police have started a probe in an attempt find him.
Police are searching for a man who stole a package containing a urethroscope valued at $25,000.
The instrument is used to go up through the genitals to view the uretha, the canal through which urine and, in the case of men, semen is discharged.
The suspect entered the house in the vicinity of 28th Street and 41st Ave, on June 4 at 12:40 am, according to police. After grabbing the package that contained the instrument, the suspect fled the location in an unknown direction, according to police.
Police describe the suspect as an adult Asian, male, with brown eyes and short black hair. He was last seen wearing black shoes, blue jeans and a button down gray shirt.
Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect and are asking anyone with any information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).

I know that device is a medical device, but if I can buy a car for $25,000, that thing is overpriced. Funny what you can get away with in the medical industry.
I hear what you are saying but, there are reasons medical equipment is so expensive. For one, Its a very small specialized market. If you make less of them they cost more. If you make a car you can mass produce them to drive the cost down. Most people can use a car, most people have no use for urethra-scope. Second, there are far more guidelines and regulations regarding how it is manufactured, and how the manufacturing facility must be maintained. Additionally these instruments are milled down precisely to a specification in microns. I still agree that the price is exorbitant but, that’s some of the reasons why
Kinda like Apple products.
Maybe he’s planning on going into business for himself as a urologist.
He should open a booth at the LIC flea. Urethra Exams 5$.
“started a probe”? “stole a package”?
Probed him deep
Is “grabbing the package that contained the instrument” some kind of perversion?
