Michelin has released its picks for the 2020 Bib Gourmand award, a recognition designated to 133 restaurants this year where diners can eat quality food for a good value.
The list includes 17 restaurants located in Queens, spanning several neighborhoods including Long Island City, Astoria, Forest Hills, and Flushing.
Bellwether and Mu Ramen located in Long Island City received the Bib Gourmand designation once more.
Five Flushing restaurants also returned to the list—Tong Sam Gyup Goo Yi, Alley 41, Hunan Cafe, Hahm Ji Bach and Dumpling Galaxy, which is widely popular for it’s extensive selection of flavorful dumplings.
In the Astoria neighborhood, Mar’s and Gregory’s 26 Corner Taverna are on the list once more. Turkish bistro Lokanta, an Astoria establishment that serves home-style Turkish cuisine, was added to the list for the first time.
In Forest Hills, Memories of Shanghai and Spy C Cuisine, both found on Austin Street, were on the list.
Other restaurants awarded in the borough of Queens are Houdini Kitchen Laboratory in Ridgewood, Legend of Taste in Whitestone and three others in Elmhurst- Paet Rio, Pata Cafe and Sweet Yummy House.
The Bib Gourmand awards are given out each year, and are handed to quality restaurants where diners can enjoy two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less.
Michelin is now in its 15th year presenting this award and has extended its reach to include Westchester County in newest edition.
The list is determined by anonymous Michelin inspectors who visit the restaurants in the course of applying their famous star rating system.
New York City Bib Gourmand restaurants are announced one week before the release of the highly anticipated star selection which is on Monday, October 21.

The Michelin price qualifier is absurd and ten years out of date. But Bellwether has very good food.
Can you really get a 2 course meal + wine at Bellwether? I am going to take this article to them and see if they can prove it right…
I chuckled
