More than one hundred construction workers had to be evacuated from a Long Island City building Monday after they discovered a large crack on the top floor.

The building, which was built in the 1920s and is undergoing extensive renovation, was unoccupied at the time and the construction workers were the only ones who had to flee from the 45-18 Court Square property.

The discovery was made just after midday, the FDNY said, and the 6-story building was evacuated a short time later.

The fire department also evacuated the occupants of the adjacent buildings, who were allowed to return to their respective buildings a few hours later, according to reports.

No injuries were reported at the scene, the FDNY said.

The FDNY said that the Department of Buildings is evaluating the condition of the Court Square structure and working with the owner. The owner is listed as 45-18 Court Square LLC.

The property is being renovated into a life sciences building.
