A 19-year-old Long Island City woman has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for the fatal stabbing of a man outside the 21st Street-Queensbridge subway station on Christmas Eve in 2009.

Cyan Brown, who lived at 40-15 12th Street, killed Thomas Winston, 29, when she stabbed him in the chest, following a verbal altercation. Brown was 16-years old at the time.

The incident occurred outside a fast food restaurant located above the 21st Street-Queensbridge subway station.  Brown exited the restaurant with a knife — and the victim, seeing the knife, backed up but slipped on the snow and fell.

At that point, Brown jumped on him and stabbed him once before fleeing into the subway.

Brown pleaded guilty in February to first-degree manslaughter.
