The LIC Flea & Food will be reopening for the 2014 season on Saturday, April 5, according to the Queens Courier, which manages the event.

The event will take place on Saturdays and Sundays at the same location as last year, which is the corner of 5th Street and 46th Avenue.

Many of last year’s vendors are coming back this year, reports the Queens Courier.  These include: Nomad Truck, An Artistic Taste, Tea & Milk and Bills Balls.

New vendors include King of Falafel & Shawarma, Grateful Bread Company, Vintage-Dealers Choice Jewelry and Nyan Soaps.

The LIC Flea & Food will run every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Vendors are still able to apply to be part of the 2014 season by registering online at http://www.licflea.com

MTA seizes 19 ‘ghost’ cars registered to toll violators at Queens Midtown Tunnel on Monday

Two days before the MTA Board approved the controversial congestion pricing plan for Manhattan on Wednesday, the agency cracked down on persistent toll violators at the Queens Midtown Tunnel in Long Island City.

MTA Bridges and Tunnels seized 19 vehicles registered to persistent scofflaws on Monday and issued 81 summonses and confiscated two fraudulent incense plates. The MTA noted that the scofflaws accounted for approximately $483,000 in combined unpaid tolls and fees. One of the top persistent toll violators from the targeted enforcement owed nearly $76,000 in tolls and fees.
