LIC Flea

Nov. 8, 2013 By Christian Murray

A temporary indoor market is opening in Hunters Point next month to cater to Christmas/Holiday shoppers.

The market—-which is being organized by the Queens Courier–will be called the LIC Flea & Food Holiday Market and will be making its debut three weeks before Christmas.

The market will open on Saturday, December 7, and will be held every Saturday and Sunday (from 11am to 6 pm) until December 22. It will be located inside a warehouse at 5-25 46th Avenue, which is next to the parking lot where the LIC Flea was held over the summer.

Fifty unique vendors will be selling their goods—such as handmade gifts, foods and sweets.  Visitors will also be able to buy fresh-cut Christmas trees.

Santa will be at the market and there will also be live jazz.

NYSCI will be part of a $20 million initiative led by Columbia University to establish an AI Institute for Artificial and Natural Intelligence (ARNI), an interdisciplinary center that will bring together several top research institutions to focus on a national priority: connecting the major progress made in AI systems to the revolution in understanding the brain.
