Another hotel has sprouted in Long Island City, bringing nearly 200 rooms to the Queens Plaza area.
Located at 29-21 41st Ave., the Hilton Garden Inn celebrated its opening with a ribbon cutting on Wednesday. However, the hotel did officially start accepting guests late April and reached 100 percent occupancy within about a week, according to general manager William Gomes.
Rooms at the new Hilton run between $150 and $240, according to a sales representative. The hotel offers 183 guest rooms, a rooftop suite, meeting space and a boardroom.
According to statistics from the Long Island City Partnership, the Hilton Garden Inn joins more than 20 other hotels currently operating in Long Island City, with about 25 more in the planning or construction phase.
