A local guitar store might need to beef up its security.

The Guitar Center, located at 34-17 48th Street, fell victim to a guitar theft on Dec. 23–the third such incident since October.

On this occasion, three men and one woman entered the store at about 7:10 pm and just walked out with a Mac computer and a guitar, according to the NYPD.

The police said that the female suspect has been described as black, approximately 5’5” and in her mid-20s.

The second suspect has been described as a male, black, approximately 45-years-old who was wearing a winter hat, police said. The third suspect is believed to be a male, black, approximately 30-years-old.. The last suspect is a male, black, who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

Police have released surveillance video of the four and are asking anyone with any information to call 1-800-577-TIPS.

Theft seems to be a common occurrence at the Guitar Center.

On October 2nd a man stole a Roland Electric Drum Kit Module that was priced at $2,199.

On October 18th a man stuffed a $4,650 guitar under his shirt and left the store without paying. Steven Proios, 32, was arrested on Dec. 1 in connection to the Oct. 18th theft, according to police.

A Guitar Center worker said Thursday that he doubted that the perpetrators of this latest theft would get away with it, given the amount of surveillance in the store.

“There are so many cameras in here that it would be nearly impossible not to get caught,” the employee said.
