Chipotle Mexican Grill will open its first location in Long Island City by the end of the month.
The Mexican food chain will open the store on the ground floor of a luxury apartment building at 26-14 Jackson Avenue on September 24.
“We chose this location because we have done well in surrounding areas and we think we will do well here too,” a spokeswoman for the company wrote in an email.
The LIC location will serve the full Chipotle food menu, but it has yet to be determined whether it will offer beer, wine and margaritas, like many of its other locations.
The LIC restaurant will employ between 25 and 30 people, and those interested in working at Chipotle can apply on the company website.
The restaurant will be open from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
This will be the fourth Chipotle in Queens, with the others located in Jackson Heights, Forest Hills, and the Queens Center Mall.

Fastfood restaurants will effectively be peopleless vending machines in short time. No opinion on whether that is desirable for the hood. However, seems like we should plan and decided what our hood should be like, rather than just let whatever happens happens.

ahhhh so they arrive one by one…Sensitive pricks hiding under anonymous as you see from the “Greenpoint Fish Market” post, might begin another breakdown rant. But THIS is exactly what I’m talking about. The failures of other restaurants to do something that actually ATTRACTS customers not just within LIC, but across New York has now brought in the franchises. And don’t give me none of that “its tough out there” crap…If restaurants like John Brown BBQ and the waterhouse can survive and actually expand from a dump of a location, so can the rest. People make treks to come to John Brown. Nothing fancy just good ole bbq. Drop this brunch and chactucuire nonsense..Bring real food or this is only the beginning. Expect a Mcdonalds in Central Blvd soon.
