BKB Queensbridge Opens To Public

BKB Queensbridge has secured necessary permits to open to the public, according to owner Lance Pinn.

The rock climbing gym and fitness center will start a soft-open phase on Wednesday. BKB Queensbridge members and the public will have access to the facility from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

As the LIC Post reported last week, BKB Queensbridge was delayed from its planned summer opening while it waited to acquire a permit that allows for more than 75 people to occupy the space at once.

The facility, which is located at 23-10 41st Ave., can hold 300 people at full capacity, Pinn said at the time.

Alongside rock climbing, BKB Queensbridge also offers personal training, fitness equipment and yoga, and will soon have a co-working space, café and retail as well.

BKB Queensbridge is one of a handful of Brooklyn Boulders facilities; others are located in Brooklyn, Chicago and Massachusetts.

An “action packed” grand opening is ultimately planned, Pinn said, including everything from skateboard trick contests to music to live graffiti art.

The grand opening is scheduled for Dec. 10.
