A former warehouse in Long Island City that was recently bought by the developers of the Chelsea Market is going to be transformed into Queens’ version of an artisanal food market, the Daily News reported yesterday.

Jamestown Properties, the owner of the warehouse known as the Falchi Building, is making steps to bring in food makers to the ground floor of the 31-00 47th Ave. location, near LaGuardia Community College.

Jamestown is said to be searching for unique start-ups to occupy its kiosks and stands.

One of the flagship tenants in the new market will be Artisanal Premium Cheese, which buys and sells curds from all over the world, according to the Daily News. The company will have a shop and a restaurant in the new market.
