Body found off Gantry Plaza State Park

The police recovered a body from the East River this morning.

The police were called to 47th Road and Center Boulevard at 10: 12 am and then proceeded to find an Asian female in her 20s in the water.

When the FDNY pulled her out of the East River, she was pronounced dead on the scene.

The police said there were no visible signs of trauma on her body, which was fully clothed. She was wearing a blue jacket and gray pants.

The police have not released her identity and the investigation continues.

Ugh, so sad. I was wondering what was going on there with all the police and FDNY ferries the other day.

Was hoping it was just a drill. 🙁
