A man with a stolen dirt bike and illegal fireworks was busted by police near the Long Island City waterfront during the early hours Monday morning.
The suspect, Wayne Ramirez, was arrested by members of the 108th NYPD Precinct near Hunters Point South Park at around 1:30 a.m. while cops were investigating illegal fireworks going off in the area.
Ramirez, 24, was caught with illegal fireworks and an amplifier speaker on 55th Avenue and Center Boulevard, according to police.
Upon further investigation, police discovered that Ramirez also had a stolen dirt bike in his possession that had a defaced license plate.
The 108th Precinct confiscated the bike and tweeted an image of it Tuesday.
The dirt bike, police said, had been stolen from Putnam Avenue in Ridgewood on June 12.
Ramirez, who is from Brooklyn, was arrested for criminal possession of stolen property, destroying or altering a vehicle identification number, criminal mischief and unlawful possession of fireworks.

I thought these types of bikes were illegal on city streets? But it was stolen from Ridgewood? This is the same style that is terrorizing western queens all day and all night.

…and let me guess; Ramirez will spend 12 hours in prison, get a $25 desk appearance ticket and be free to go on his way?
Grateful that he was released with no bond 2 hours later. Should have never been arrested. What harm was he causing.
