The children’s playground on the corner of 48th Avenue and 5th Street—known as the tot lot—is scheduled to officially reopen today after undergoing a major overhaul.
The playground, which is for 2-to 4-year-olds, reopens with a jungle gym, slide, climbing area and a soft surface.
The overhaul represents the second phase of the upgrades to the park space along 48th Avenue between Vernon Boulevard and 5th Street. The first phase, which involved the revamp of the basketball and handball courts, was completed last summer.

That spot has been closed and chained for 4 years and under construction for 2 years at a cost of $350,000. Glad it is open though.
Two years and 350k? Should have a lifetime warranty for that price.
Thank you, NY State Parks Department! This is a great little playground.
Happy, happy happy with the design. Perfect for little ones. Thank you NY State designers. (This is a New York State park, folks.)
