A grocery store that will sell a range of conventional and organic foods is scheduled to open in a high-end apartment building in Long Island City early next year.

Prestige Marketplace will open in January 2022 inside 45-45 Center Blvd, a 41-story building on the Long Island City waterfront. The store will be open 24 hours a day.

The company is set to take up around 3,000 square feet on the ground floor of the 820-unit building that was developed by TF Cornerstone. The market will move into space that was formerly occupied by I Love Kickboxing.

The opening will mark the company’s third city location—with one in Manhattan and the other Brooklyn.

The store will sell a wide range of natural and organic foods along with other grocery items. It will also have a deli, a salad bar and a juice bar.

Bejad Musleh, the owner of Prestige Marketplace, said the company was drawn to the location because of the large number of residents living in the TF Cornerstone complex and nearby.

“We are confident that Prestige Marketplace will be a great addition to the building and the neighborhood as a whole,” Musleh said.

Steve Gonzalez, Senior Director of Retail Leasing at TF Cornerstone, said the move was an example of the developer’s dedication to keeping the area vibrant and providing important services.

“By bringing in another respected retailer like Prestige Marketplace, we will continue our work in fostering a fully amenitized and diverse community where every resident can thrive.”

The building has four retail/commercial units. The grocery store will join Fado, the European Wax Center and NY Kids Club.

Oh man, one more nail in Food cellars coffin! This is great news for anyone on this end of Center Boulevard! Can we get a Chase ATM in the building as well?
