Detectives from the 108th Precinct have uncovered new video surveillance that shows a suspect walking through the Queens Plaza subway station in Long Island City after he allegedly slashed a 22-year-old woman on board an E train on the night of Friday, May 10.
The victim was riding a southbound E train approaching the station at Queens Boulevard and Jackson Avenue at 10:44 p.m. when a stranger lugging a red Grubhub delivery bag walked up to her and pulled out a sharp object.

The suspect proceeded to slash the woman on her left leg, causing a laceration, police said. The assailant ran off the train and fled the station in an unknown direction. The victim remained on the train and got off at the Lexington Ave-53rd St. station, where she called the NYPD.
EMS responded to the scene and rushed the wounded woman to New York-Presbyterian/ Weill Cornell Medical Center on the Upper East Side, where she was listed in stable condition.
The NYPD released the new security camera footage from inside the Queens Plaza subway station on Thursday and described the suspect as having a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a white baseball cap, a gray t-shirt with red and blue lettering on the front, and blue jeans while carrying a large red delivery bag with Grubhub logos.

Through May 12, the 108th Precinct has reported 86 assaults so far in 2024, 8 more than the 78 reported at the same point last year, an increase of 10.3%, according to the most recent CompStat report. Transit crimes are on the way down in the precinct with 16 reported this year, 15 fewer than the 31 reported at the same point in 2023, a decline of 48.4%, according to CompStat.
