A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car while crossing Queens Plaza North last night, according to police.
The victim, an unidentified woman believed to be in her 50s, was hit by a blue 2009 Honda CRV at the intersection of 27th Street and Queens Plaza North at about 9:45 pm.
The police arrived on the scene moments later and transported her to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
A preliminary investigation determined that the woman was walking from the south side of the plaza toward Queens Plaza North. The driver of the Honda, who remained on the scene, was traveling toward Manhattan on Queens Plaza North.

All that money WASTED by screwing up traffic…..and making that stupid zig zag to get on to the local streets all to please bike riders when another walkway overpass would have been all that was needed….
and merging with NO SIGNAGE on the south side….
This is an Embarrassment to the company who designed it……..guess they were those Europeeean trash greenie types who walked or biked everywhere and never driven a car….
