Teachers are appreciated at Studio Square

More than 700 teachers are expected to celebrate the last day of school at Studio Square’s Teacher Appreciation Party on Wednesday afternoon.

The mammoth event and entertainment complex at 35-33 36th St. has been a happy hour headquarters for area teachers all year.

“Every Friday we’ve been a headquarters for them,” said Jennifer Barker, a spokeswoman for Studio Square.  Teachers with identification have received 50% off food and drink on Friday afternoons. The special has become increasingly popular given the area’s multitude of schools.

Wednesday’s party will cost $35 for an open bar featuring beer, wine and sangria. Each attendee receives a voucher for a full meal at Studio Square’s Garden Grill. The event is open to the public, not just teachers.

“We had a great turnout last year,” Barker said. “It will be even bigger this year.” The party runs from 3-7pm at Studio Square’s cobblestone beer garden.
