Police have released a shocking video of a woman being repeatedly hit in the head with a hammer by a mugger at Queens Plaza Thursday night, leaving her in critical condition.

The terrifying footage captures a 57-year-old woman walking down a flight of steps at an entrance to the Queens Plaza subway station at around 11:20 p.m. before she is kicked in the back by a man.

The woman, who is seen holding onto a rail on her way down the steps, is kicked a second time by the suspect who can then be seen pulling out a hammer and striking the victim in the back of the head.

Suspect (NYPD)

The perpetrator hits the helpless woman with the hammer around a dozen more times, striking her in the head and the back, the footage shows.

The victim then falls to the ground while the suspect grabs her bag and casually walks back up the steps before fleeing southbound on Queens Plaza South, police said.

The woman was transported by EMS to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center with a fractured skull and lacerations to her head, cops said.

Police said the victim’s bag contained $120 cash, two rings, two cell phones as well as debit cards and credit cards.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black-colored hooded coat, a black mask, blue jeans and black shoes. He also carried a cane.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org/

I also would like to say cracking down on fare evasion sometimes leads youn to violent offenders who are still walking the streets.
It has happened before when tjey used to enforce fare evasion.. They would run the person for outstanding warrants.

A black person viciously beats a white woman with a hammer and steals her property. These are absolute, non-negotiable facts. 1) There is no reason to withhold this information. 2) There should be outcry over this brutal attack!
