A Long Island City beer hall on Jackson Avenue has shuttered after a near six-year run.
Bierocracy, located at 12-23 Jackson Avenue, closed for good Sunday, following an announcement it made on social media last week.
The Instagram post did not specify the reason for the closure although its owners alluded to issues with their landlord.
“Bierocracy survived COVID but not the landlord!” their message reads.
“With sadness, we are forced to close down permanently on Sunday, Oct. 24… thank you for your loyalty.”
The Czech-styled beer hall opened in 2015 and could seat around 200 people in its 4,000-square-foot venue.
It was known for its special pours of Czech beers as well other imported brews from Central Europe. The establishment also served local brews, ciders and radlers—beers mixed with soda.
Patrons were also offered schnitzels and burgers as well as pub snacks such as pretzels and sausages.
The beer hall had a 4.3-star rating on Google (out of a possible 5) based on nearly 800 reviews.

What a shame. They spent so long getting it started, and had so much passion in the beginning. I’m sure the LL could’ve worked with them more, but they didn’t help themselves by letting the place go to shit once places started to re-open.
Nice to see the landlord is constantly being a greedy jerk killing his tenants every time a lease comes up for renewal. I hope he bleeds debt leaving this space empty for years. The next tenant should beware.
The next tenant s/b aware that LIC is where bar/restaurants go to die.
Frank, He will not bleed $$$. He probally bought the property years ago for less that a new Ford.
If you grew up in LIC , you know that real estae in the 70’s and 80’s were cheap. He will be fine. I am sorry for the loss of the bar and the jobs it provided. Although your wish will not be granted, there are other tentants and the owners most likely have NO MORGAGE.
