A new beer hall/entertainment venue is scheduled to open in Long Island City in the fall.
The new establishment will be called Gamehaus LIC/NY, located at 5-14 51st Ave., and the operators are taking over the building that was previously occupied by the brewpub Alewife which shuttered in July and moved its operations to Sunnyside.
The 7,500 square foot space, which is spread across three floors, will function as a live entertainment venue, beer hall and restaurant when it opens.
The business is owned by El Grupo SN, a hospitality company, and it is expected to open by October, according to a spokesperson.
The establishment will also contain a dedicated games room featuring retro arcade games and table games aimed at young adults and families, according to the company’s website.
Little work appears to have been done on the building since Alewife left.
The interior and exterior of the building have yet to have been altered. The Alewife company name remains on the awning.
The exterior paintwork associated with the brewpub is also untouched. It is not known when the space will undergo a revamp.
El Grupo SN operates a number of bars and restaurants throughout Manhattan—including Hidden Lane NYC, a bar and events space in Union Square, as well as Row House, a restaurant in Harlem.
The group plans to open a rooftop nightclub and lounge in Chelsea this week called Somewhere Nowhere. El Grupo SN was founded by Nathan Leong and Sameer Qureshi.
