Two Men Shot in Drive-By Shooting in Long Island City: NYPD

A bullet-ridden vehicle on 46th Avenue in Long Island City on New Year’s Day

Jan. 1, 2021 By Christian Murray

Two men were shot in a drive-by shooting in Long Island City in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

The victims were sitting in their car on the corner of 9th Street and Queens Plaza South at around 12:15 a.m. when another vehicle drove up beside them and shots were fired, according to police.

One of the victims, 20, sustained a shot to the leg. The other victim, 17, was shot in the left shoulder. Both were transported to a local hospital and did not sustain life threatening injuries.

Police received a call about the shooting from an individual who was at 5-26 46th Ave.  A spokesperson for the police was unable to explain why the report was made there.

However, a bullet-ridden car was at the 46th Avenue location after the shooting.

The Long Island City incident was one of two shootings in Queens shortly into the New Year. A triple shooting took place at a Kew Gardens hotel at 1:10 a.m. that left one man dead.

When are the brains in the NYPD going to find the source of all of these guns? I see more cars in Queens from other states than from NY. Do an investigation on these license plates and see who really owns the car because especially in Florida and other parts of the south, you can buy a gun as easily as a Big Mac.

The out of state plates are more often than not in-state residents committing insurance fraud. Register the car at grandma’s house in North Carolina or with the cousins in Pennsylvania, avoid crazy NYS rates. Of course this drives up rates for those of us with NY plates.

Well lets not forget we had a super spreader party in park, we had fireworks that lit the pier on fire and fire department had to cut out piece of pier, we had drag racing and 2 block we have the police department and they were no where to be found. Photos at http://www.HuntersPointSouthParks.com
