Man Snatches Woman’s Phone at Queens Plaza Station, NYPD Looking for Suspect

Suspect (NYPD)

June 5, 2019 By Max Murray

The police are searching for a man who allegedly swiped a 28-year-old woman’s cellphone at the Queens Plaza station in Long Island City last month.

On Tuesday May 7, at around 1 p.m., the suspect approached the victim who was sitting on a platform bench waiting for a Jamaica-bound E train. He then grabbed the phone out of her hands and then fled the station, according to police.

The victim was uninjured.

Police released photos and videos of the suspect yesterday.

The suspect is described as being black, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing an all grey sweat suit and black sneakers.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-8477, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.

Vote Judge Lasak for DA in Democrat Primary. The only tough-on-crime candidate in the race. Could have made millions in private practice years ago but never left public service and never left Queens. LASAK for DA 2019.

CRIME is down Mayor DumBlasio. NOT…… When the new OMNY system takes over for Metro Cards and if you need a high end phone to use it, there will be more phone thefts. We are not using OMNY widely yet (16 stations)and there are phone thefts. What happens if your battery dies, system goes down from MTA (and it will) or you lose your phone? Think there could be a better way to do OMNY not tied to phones mainly. I don’t trust MTA with anything especially putting money on my cards or bank account access to their system. How is 7 line new signals going? My wife in the last 4 working days had a train break down and another problem last week. MTA is terrible. Pieces falling off 7 train and MTA had just checked the viaduct on Roosevelt ave. Byford told JVB that he is not putting up netting just yet. What BS, they will wait until someone gets hurt. Typical.
