Police are searching for a woman who allegedly assaulted an MTA train operator with her handbag at the Court Square station last month in an attack that saw a chipped tooth and other injuries.
The train operator, a 48-year-old man, was attempting to intervene in an argument between commuters on the Brooklyn-bound platform at around 8:40 p.m. on Dec. 27, police said.
The operator managed to separate the two dueling straphangers, but one of them, an unidentified woman who was accompanied by three small children, struck him in the face with her handbag.
The operator sustained a chipped tooth and a lip laceration, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in Queens for treatment.
The suspect is described as black, approximately 35 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, and with a medium complexion and thin build.
She was last seen wearing a dark grey hat, a black waist-length jacket, grey tights and red sneakers.

Tough call for train personnel—don’t intervene—one person could land on the tracks. Do intervene—get hurt. Also, I would be tempted to pull the kids to the side. MTA personnel have a tough job. He did his best.

The very sad part is she was with three small children. What a horrible example to set for them.
I agree she shouldn’t set such a bad example for the kids.
