The highly-anticipated Xi’an Famous Foods is expected to open the doors to its Long Island City location some time this fall.

Jason Wang, CEO of the casual northwestern Chinese food chain, said he’s hoping for an October opening for the 26-19 Jackson Ave. location, although the approximate time could change.

The site is still undergoing construction work, but had to stop briefly due to some issues, Wang said.

News of the restaurant’s expansion into Long Island City first came in January, with The Court Square Blog reporting that the shop would open some time in late spring.

Xi’an Famous Foods is most known for its menu of hand-ripped noodles, secret spice mixes, and “burgers” made with flatbread, according to its website.

The chain began in 2005 as a small stall in Flushing’s Golden Shopping Mall, and steadily grew in popularity over the years before receiving a tremendous push from the late Anthony Bourdain, who visited the location in 2007 for his show, “No Reservations.”

Wang credited Bourdain with helping his family grow the eatery into a sizable empire in a post following Bourdain’s death in June.

“…While he may have no idea what he has done for our family and business by simply saying he enjoyed the food, I wanted him to know it helped bring our family out from living in one room in Flushing to living the American dream,” Wang wrote in an Instagram post.

Wang said the Long Island City location’s opening will be announced through the company’s social media channels.
