Report: Florida Tourist on Life Support After Being Punched in LIC

The victim of a brutal punch in Long Island City Sunday morning is fighting for his life, police said.

Sandor Szabo, 35, a tourist from Florida, is on life support after a man got out of his parked car at 1:15 a.m. and punched him in the face, sending him crashing to the pavement. 

Szabo was struck after he left his brother’s Long Island City hotel and knocked on the window of a parked SUV near 41-10 29th St., according to the New York Daily News.

Szabo may have thought the vehicle was his Uber, the victim’s brother told the News.

The driver of the vehicle confronted Szabo and punched him hard in the face. Szabo fell to the ground, knocking his head on the asphalt, according to police.

Szabo was rushed to an area hospital, where he is now in critical condition, police said Tuesday.

Szabo is a vice president of Sales at What If Media Group in Boca Raton, Florida, according to Facebook. He had been in town for his step-sister’s wedding, according to the News.

The police describe the suspect as a bald, dark-skinned man. He was last seen wearing a light-colored long sleeved shirt and jeans.

Everyone outside Queens tjonks LIC/Sunnyside is so dreamy. So many vicious attacks around these parts. My heart goes out to his family. What a disgrace this guy just walked away.

There are CAMERAS ALL OVER THERE ! POLICE NEED TO CANVASS RESTAURANTS /BARS / HOTELS ON THE BLOCK AND AROUND THE VICINITY !! He could be a patron /guest in one of the establishments in the area !!

There are so many criminals in LIC now: Rick Gates, Paul Manafort, Michael Cohen, etc.

Oh sorry, I confused LIC with the White House. Probably because the luxury condo developer I voted for for president is from Queens.
