The police are looking for a suspect who shot a man in broad daylight Tuesday about a block away from Queensboro Plaza.
The victim was a 24-year-old man who was shot after getting into a verbal dispute with the other man as they both walked in front of 42-15 Crescent St. at around 4:30 p.m. yesterday, police say.
The suspect shot the victim in the left thigh, police say.
Surveillance video provided by the NYPD shows a man raising a firearm twice before turning to continue to walk.
The victim was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital, where he is currently in stable condition. Meanwhile, the other man fled the scene on foot.
Police describe the suspect as black, in his mid-20s, and with a medium complexion and build. He has black hair, and was last seen wearing a black back pack, a tan baseball hat, a black shirt, tan cargo pants, and tan shoes.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

Old timers are always quiet when there are stories of shootings, drugs and prostitution. They only hate people with money who have good jobs and work hard and try to get their children a good education.
Some commentators may want to read about the savage that killed his whole family in Astoria. Is that what happens in a gentrified neighborhood?
What exactly is your point? That white people kill too? Fact, gentrified neighborhoods are mostly much safer than their pre-gentrified selves. There are examples of everything if you want to dig.
Again I will say what the NYPD and Bill DumBlasio say “CRIME IS DOWN”. What BS. Stop lying to the public, they say this so the developers wwon’t have scared buyers and of course for tourists.
Agreed, who would be gullible enough to trust these greedy developers? Except for Trump voters of course.
if there was a “love” button for your comment, I would have used it!
Tried , another Anti-Trump post. Oh Wow, I.m surprised. What will you do if he wins again complain for 4 more years. respect the office.
It’s a shame the NYPD couldn’t just say “CRIME IS DOWN” before Rick Gates pleaded guilty to false statements and conspiracy against the United States, the crimes he committed with Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort, huh?
A Menace To Society!!! No regard for human life. Should be easy to locate – have NYPD techs triangulate his cell phone precisely on that spot – time and day from the video footage and they should find him.
Someone watch a bit too much TV?
Gentrification isn’t happening quick enough!!! The majority of this crime is coming from the nearby housing developments Queensbridge & Ravenswood projects. They need to increase police presence & strictly enforce evictions of subsidized residents convicted of serious crimes!
Between LIC & Astoria there have been shootings almost everyday in the past week!!! Deblasio & his BS policies are slowly taking us back to the ugly days of NYC.
do I detect shhhhhh a person of color? and a member of the NRA?
Sounds like they need to bring back stop and frisk. The amount of shootings are insane. They have no fear or care who they hurt. This is why we can’t have nice things.
