A popular Woodside eatery that serves all-natural and antibiotic-free chicken is opening a location in Long Island City in September.

The restaurant, called Mister Chicken To Go, is opening at 44-64 21st St., in the space that was occupied by the pizzeria Amerigo.

The Long Island City venue will be Mister Chicken’s second store, with its other being located at 53-26 Roosevelt Ave. in Woodside. The eatery opened seven years ago.

The restaurant, known best for its rotisserie chicken and mashed potatoes, does a high volume of delivery orders, with many coming from Long Island City.

“We get a lot of business from Long Island City,” said Mauro Haguilar said, the owner said. “We get so many deliveries.”

Haguilar said the new restaurant has room for between 20 and 25 seats, and that he will be offering the same menu items as his Woodside location–including crispy fried chicken, chicken wings, chicken fingers, burritos and wraps. However, the Long Island City eatery, unlike the Woodside store, will also offer pizza.

ahhh, very smart indeed. I must say, they really thought this one out. Many families will order whole chickens and sides for dinner. Pick up a whole meal on their way from work. While I have called for franchises on many occasions, these guys will function as your local KFC and Boston Market. Well done.
