A listening party was held last night under the Queensboro Bridge for the release of Nasir “Nas” Jones’ new album.
The party was held at an empty lot adjacent to the bridge, with an address of 41-98 Vernon Blvd. from about 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.
The location is less than a block away from the Queensbridge Houses, where Nas grew up.
The listening party for the new album, “Nasir”, was attended by several celebrities and music industry heads, including Kanye West, who produced the artist’s 11th studio album, Pusha T, Kim Kardashian, Chris Rock, and Havoc, of the Mobb Deep duo, also from the Queensbridge Houses.
The listening party also rerouted the Q102 and Q103 buses away from Vernon Boulevard, based on signs posted by social media users.

Luckily no shots were fired and everyone got home safely which is generally what occurs at these events.

Yep – it could be heard down as far as the VJ 7 train stop too – sounded like it was right outside on the street! (we all thought it was a car driving around the area with the radio blasting!)
I was wondering what that was. Thought Ravel was having some roof party and was a little worried they just got a new sound system. That was LOUD! Really loud. Funny because as I was taking the ferry last week to Astoria I thought to myself that that spot would be awesome for an amphitheater. Nice views right on the water. Could add a ferry spot for events.
This was way too loud. Windows in Hunters Point were shaking all night, well after 11pm
