Basketball courts at 48th Avenue in Long Island City

The LIC Hoops basketball tournament is returning for a second year next month.
The tournament will take place from June 2 and June 3 at the Gantry Plaza State Park basketball courts on 48th Avenue.
The June 2 event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and reserved for adults ages 18 and over. There is a limit of eight teams for this event, which follows round robin play and Queens rules. A registration fee also applies.
The June 3 event, also from 9 a.m. to midday, is for children under 18. Participants will be divided by age groups, and no registration fee is required. A waiver, however, must be signed by a parent of guardian. Those interested in the June 3 event must pre-register, as space is limited.
Both the adult and kids tournaments will have referees on site.
The tournament features game clocks, trophies, drinks, and snacks.
