A fire that broke out at a Long Island City apartment building last night sent multiple people to the hospital, including one in critical condition, the FDNY said.
Firefighters got a call for a fire at the first floor of 11-14 46th Ave. just after 10:30 p.m., an FDNY spokesperson said. The incident saw 12 units with 60 firefighters at the scene.
The fire was brought under control less than an hour later at 11:21 p.m., according to the FDNY.
There were a total of 10 victims, the FDNY said, but five refused medical attention. Of the other five, four were sent to Mount Sinai Queens with minor injuries.
One victim was sent to Cornell Hospital in critical condition, the FDNY said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by fire marshals.
Video taken at the scene shows several windows along the first floor busted in, with the inside of the apartment charred.
