Man shot dead at Ravenswood Houses, police say

A 26-year-old man was shot and killed yesterday at the Ravenswood Houses in Long Island City, police said.

According to an NYPD spokesman, at about 12:07 p.m., a gunman opened fire on Terrell Smith, leaving him with multiple wounds to the torso.

Smith was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he later died.

Police believe the shooter was wearing a white T-shirt and grey sweatpants, and fled the scene in the direction of 35th Street.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

@MRLIC The classic tv show “the wire” focused a season on the manipulation of a COMPstat style program and how it was manipulated.

All our Politicians tell us NYC is so SAFE. What BS. Many crimes go under reported or never reported. Many are downgraded under the COMPSTAT Computer program the NYPD uses.
