Pop-up shop dedicated to selling Queens-made products to open for a month in Long Island City

A shop selling local products will be popping up next month at a Japanese culture center in Long Island City.

Made In Queens, a retail store selling all Queens-made goods that was run by the Queens Economic Development Corporation, shut down its 27 -24 Queens Plaza South location earlier this year. However, it will return as a pop-up shop for a month at Resobox, a Japanese café and culture center at 41-26 27th Street.

The pop-up shop will open on April 9 with an opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. and will run until May 6, offering crafts, apparel and small-batch, artisanal food products.

Vendors will include Sandra Smith designer bags, Metrix Jewelry, Hooks and Luxe accessories, Forest Witch loose leaf teas, Keri Confections, Queens Thread, Chi-Cho Sauce, DaniPrints, Niizeki Hiromi Studio, Paris Images, Halety Sweetz, Cecilia Motwani unisex style, and Wishwas garments.

“It’s a win-win! Visit MiQ @ Resobox and peruse wonderful products made by local crafters and then enjoy some delicious Japanese food, including sushi, miso soup, various noodles and even mochi ice cream,” said QEDC Director of Business Services Sante Antonelli in a statement.
