Oct. 18, 2016 Staff Report

An off-duty police officer was arrested Sunday for driving while impaired and parking on top of the LIRR tracks in Long Island City.

Hitesh Arora, 39, of the 73rd Precinct in Brooklyn was found with his car parked on the railroad tracks near Borden Avenue on Sunday, according to police.

Police said that they received a 911 call regarding the car parked on the tracks around 10 p.m., and found Arora seemingly intoxicated upon arrival, though he refused to take a breathalyzer test.

He was taken in to custody and charged with his first offense of driving while intoxicated, obstructing a highway railroad crossing, and a refusal to take a breath test.

He has been suspended from his duties as a police officer since his arrest.

He didn’t “park” and the car wasnt ” stalled” on the tracks… He took the turn at about 50mph. Flew onto the tracks. Right over the third rail. Created two big bursts of sparks until he finally came to rest about 300 feet on tracks. Then tried to back up then tried to get out. I was a witness along with about 50 other constructionworkers. I also have pics and video…

You are an ass, he was arrested. He didn’t get away with anything. And cops have been getting locked up for DWI all the time when they do it. They no longer get away with it.
