LIC Veterinary Center

A new animal hospital opened on Vernon Blvd. at the end of last month—only to close days later when Hurricane Sandy struck.

The clinic—called the LIC Veterinary Center—is now back up and running.

The center is located at 48-18 Vernon Blvd. and is an extension of the East Side Animal Hospital in Manhattan.

The center treats dogs, cats, birds to exotic animals.

“Except for when we closed during the storm, we’ve been very busy.  We’re doing great,” said Marian Grigoras, the office manager.

Queens elected officials secure $70 million from New York State Budget for school safety equipment in religious and independent schools

Religious and independent schools throughout the city will soon receive additional funding for school safety equipment, thanks to Assemblymember Andrew Hevesi and State Senator Michael Gianaris, who, after extensive advocacy efforts, successfully secured $70 million from the New York State Budget for 2024-25 for Non-Public School Safety Equipment (NPSE) grants.
