May 31, 2016 Staff Report

The outdoor summer music series at MoMA PS1 kicks off June 11 with music from LCD Soundsystem’s Nancy Whang, Hot Chip and numerous other local and international artists.

Now in its 19th year, the “Warm Up” series brings DJs and experimental music and sound outdoors to the MoMA PS1 courtyard. The lineup features both established and emerging artists, who hail from New York City as well as Baltimore, Detroit, London, Paris and many other cities.

Performances take place Saturdays from June 11 to August 27, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., but doors open at noon.

Attendance is free for Long Island City locals with proof of residency.

This year, the series takes place among a “cloud” of brightly colored ropes, designed by Escobedo Soliz Studio, which was the winning design of MoMA’s annual Young Architects Program. The installation also includes a reflective wading pool at the back of the courtyard.
