John Leguizamo, Mira Jacob, Tracy O’Neill To Visit LIC Reading Series

The LIC Reading Series will present three big names at LIC Bar next week.

On March 8 at 8 p.m., the LIC Reading Series will host John Leguizamo, Mira Jacob and Tracy O’Neill. The authors will read their work, a panel discussion will take place and there will be prizes for the audience.

Leguizamo is well known for his acting career, especially his roles in “Moulin Rouge,” “Romeo and Juliet” and “Ice Age.” He is also a comedian, playwright, screenwriter and author of the autobiographical graphic novel “Ghetto Klown” set partly in Queens.

Mira Jacob is a Brooklyn-based author whose novel “The Sleepwalker’s Guide to Dancing” was shortlisted for India’s Tata Literature First Book Award and deemed one of the best books of 2014 by numerous outlets. Tracy O’Neill is a National Book Foundation 5 under 35 Honoree and her book “The Hopeful” made the Flaherty-Dunnan Debut Novel longlist.

To secure a seat at the LIC Reading Series event, attendees must purchase a book via the Astoria Bookshop’s online link. Books will be sold in advance until capacity is reached, according to the reading series’ Facebook page.

The LIC Reading Series hosts regular readings that take place on the second Tuesday of the month at LIC Bar.

LIC Bar is located at 45-58 Vernon Blvd.
