Fire breaks out on Jackson Avenue construction site, quickly brought under control

Firefighters battled a fire on a construction site located at 28-10 Jackson Avenue Saturday afternoon.

No injuries have been reported, and the fire department tweeted around 3 p.m. that the fire was under control.

The fire broke out at a drilling rig around 2:15 p.m., and according to the FDNY, was fed by natural gas.

Tishman Speyer and H&R Real Estate Investment Trust are developing the site. Plans are for a 1,798-unit mixed-use development.
