Missing Marathon Runner Who Was Staying In LIC Located On 2 Train

Police have located an Italian man who was staying at a Long Island City hotel and went missing after the New York City Marathon.

An off-duty officer spotted Gianclaudio Marengo, 30, on a southbound 2 train in the vicinity of 34th Street and 7th Avenue at approximately 6:30 a.m., according to the NYPD.

Marengo, who is from Italy and only speaks Italian, went missing on Sunday morning after running in the marathon. He was last seen at the race’s finish line, inside Central Park, at approximately 3 p.m. that afternoon.

Marengo was staying at the Sleep Inn Hotel, located at 38-71 13 St.

Before going missing, Marengo had been last seen wearing a turquoise shirt, black shorts and a Marathon racing bib.

What kind of reporting is this? Is he dead, unconscious? What happened to him, why and how he was found on 2 Train? Lots of missing information.

Twenty individuals were indicted and variously charged in a wide-ranging scheme to steal cars in Queens, throughout New York City and its suburbs, following a three-year investigation by the Queens District Attorney’s Office, the NYPD, and the New York State Police dubbed “Operation Hellcat,” into the criminal enterprise based in Queens.

Some of the vehicles were stolen from owners’ driveways, some with the keys or key fobs inside. The stolen vehicles were often sold through advertisements on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. The defendants are charged in nine separate indictments for a total of 373 counts, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced on Thursday.
