The shelves are packed with products and the cash registers are ready to ring people up.
Food Cellar, best known for its upscale supermarket in Hunters Point, will be opening its 14,000 square-foot store in Court Square this month, an owner confirmed.
Metin Mangut, one of Food Cellar’s three owners, said “we are very, very close to opening,” adding that the supermarket would definitely be open by the end of the month.
“I don’t want to give you an actual date,” Mangut said. “We want it open more than anyone. But it will be open in November.”
Food Cellar, which signed a 15-year lease in 2013, is opening on the ground floor (and basement) of the Linc LIC, the 709-unit residential tower located at 43-10 Crescent St. The supermarket was expected to open in the summer of 2014, which was around the time that Rockrose fully leased the building.
The new supermarket will be Food Cellar’s second location.
The Court Square Blog indicated the supermarket was opening soon when it published a Food Cellar tweet.
