Man slashes woman’s ankle following dispute at Queensbridge Houses, police say

Police are searching for a suspect who slashed a woman’s ankle following a verbal dispute.

The 19-year-old victim got into an argument with a man in the Queensbridge Houses before the alleged perpetrator slashed the woman’s ankle and fled in an unknown direction, the NYPD said.

The police responded to the 41-08 10 Street scene on July 7th at 8:20 pm, after the victim called 911. EMS also responded and transported the victim to Queens Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was treated and released.

The suspect, 20, who knew the victim, is described as approximately 6 feet tall, weighing 230 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair in a long pony tail.

The man has a scar on his right cheek, a tattoo on his on his left forearm spelling out the word “Brooklyn” and a tattoo of a cross on his right forearm spelling out the word “Karlene”, according to the NYPD.

The police released photos of the suspect and are asking anyone with any information to call 1-800-577-TIPS.
