A large upscale Italian restaurant that will be located at 46-10 Center Boulevard is expected to open in next week.

Robert Briskin, a Long Island City resident and co-owner of the establishment, said the restaurant will open on Tuesday, June 9. It will be called Maiella, after a mountain range in central Italy. The eatery has been open in the last week to family and friends.

The restaurant is also co-owned by Rocco Sacramone, the acclaimed owner/chef at Trattoria L’incontro in Astoria.

Sacramone’s Trattoria L’incontro, which opened at 21-76 31st Ave. in Astoria in 1999, is among the highest ranked Italian restaurants in New York City, according Zagat. The restaurant is known for its high-end pasta dishes and wine selection.

Maiella is about 8,000 square feet and will seat nearly 200 people in the dining area and about 100 in the patio area. That patio area faces the back of the Pepsi sign and out onto the East River. There is also a private dining and tasting room.

Briskin said that the menu at the Center Boulevard location will be very similar to Sacramone’s Astoria restaurant.

Briskin has two business partners—Sacramone and Tommy Demaras, who lives on Center Boulevard.

Just went at soft opening. Exquisite food, extremely high end place, decor to die for.

Been to the Astoria location. Food is good (not great). Il Falco has better Italian food IMO. The one thing that bugs me about the Astoria location is that they try to push wines from a specific wine producer. I’ve found out that the reason they do this is because the winery is owned by a relative of Sacramone’s. Hope they don’t use these tactics in the LIC location.

Not sure why you’re getting so many Dislike comments. Haha. You’re just expressing your perspective on the food. I have high expectations for it, however. I AM an Il Falco junkie, though. Also helps that they’re closer to my house. So, that’s going to be my bar as well. That said, really looking forward to eating here.
