Italian restaurant location

The large upscale Italian restaurant that will be located at 46-10 Center Boulevard is expected to open in April.
Rocco Sacramone, the co-owner of the restaurant who is also the head chef at the acclaimed Astoria eatery Trattoria L’incontro, said that construction is expected to be done by the end of February.
The restaurant, which has yet to be named, will be 8,000 square feet and will seat about 180 people in the dining area and about 75 in the patio area. That patio area faces the back of the Pepsi sign and out onto the East River.
Sacrome said that he will be training staff in March with the intention to open the restaurant in early April.
Trattoria L’incontro, which opened at 21-76 31st Ave. in Astoria in 1999, is among the highest ranked Italian restaurants in New York City, according Zagat. The restaurant is known for its high-end pasta dishes and wine selection.
Sacramone said that the menu at the Center Boulevard location will be very similar to his Astoria restaurant.
He said he selected Hunters Point as a place to open a second restaurant since it is a vibrant area and is close to his existing restaurant.
Sacramone, an Astoria resident, has two business partners, Robert Briskin and Tommy Demaras, both of whom live on Center Boulevard.

Just what LIC needs, another Italian restaurant.
I have been going to Rocco’s various restaurants since I moved to LIC in 1997 and he owned a small pizzeria and even smaller restaurant on 30th Avenue. Anyone who has been to Italy and knows Italian food knows that Rocco’s cuisine is the real deal. So glad I won’t have to drive to Astoria for it anymore
L’incontro is up there with some of the best Italian joints the city has to offer. This is one time I’m not even gonna be sarcastic. If they can provide the same quality food with skyline views, this place will be a winner.

L’incontro is one of the best Italian restaurants in NYC? I’m sorry but this statement cannot be taken seriously. I agree with what was said in an earlier post that this place is highly overrated. It’s good but definitely not one of the best in NYC. I’d even venture to say that it’s not even the best in Western Queens (see Il Falco).

One more Italian Restaurant… we should rename LIC to INR (Italian, Nail Salons and Real Estate offices)

The Astoria location is overrated. I’m not saying that the food sucks. In fact I would rate it above average. But it does not merit the award of best Italian restaurant in Queens. Come on now!
