Stribling & Associates, the residential real estate firm based in Manhattan, will be expanding into office space in Long Island City’s WeWork center.
The luxury real estate firm will settle into the two-floor, 43,000 square-foot co-working space at 27-01 Queens Plaza North, known as the Brewster Building, in March.
The transformation of Long Island City into a luxury community was one of reasons cited by Stribling for the expansion. The firm also want to have a larger presence in the neighborhood.
“We felt Stribling needed boots on the ground to fully take part in the exciting evolution here, and WeWork provided the right opportunity to hit the ground running,” said Patrick W. Smith, a long time Long Island City resident who will be overseeing operations at the new office space.
WeWork announced it would be expanding to Queens Plaza last summer and is about to open. The offices will reportedly hold more than 600 patrons on the 12th and 13th floors of the building.
Amenities at the Queens Plaza WeWork will include phone booths, conference rooms, printing, high-speed internet, and space to host professional and social events.

Mixed use = office space as well as housing. Plenty of both so mission accomplished as far as that is concerned.
Unfortunately the housing prices have become higher than anyone imagined. Who knew there were so many people willing and able to pay the astronomical housing prices? Kind of like the Kevin Costner movie where the eerie voice says “if you build it they will come”.
There is that word “LUXURY” again. When KING BLOOMBERG sought to rezone everything in LIC he used the words”MIXED USE” to describe the changes to the neighborhood to come. It has since been distorted into the ugly tall building mess it has and still is becoming. Way to ruin a community and make it for the rich. “GENTRIFICATION”.
