NYPD: Two Men Robbed at Gunpoint at Murray Playground Last Week

Two men were robbed at gunpoint at Murray Playground last week, police said.

The victims, aged 23 and 24 respectively, were at the playground at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, when two other men of a similar age engaged them in a conversation.

While chatting, one of the suspects lifted up his shirt to reveal a handgun in his waistband and demanded the two men’s property.

The men complied and gave the two suspects their cellphones and wallets.

The suspects then forced the 23-year old to walk over to Palace Fried Chicken, located at 44-45 21st Street, where they had him withdraw $100 in cash from the ATM.

The suspects then fled southbound on 21st Street.

The first suspect is described as black, in his 20s; last seen wearing a gray hooded sweater, blue jeans and red sneakers.

The second suspect (not pictured) is black, in his 20s; last seen wearing a black and white varsity style jacket, black sweatpants and black sneakers.

MTA seizes 19 ‘ghost’ cars registered to toll violators at Queens Midtown Tunnel on Monday

Two days before the MTA Board approved the controversial congestion pricing plan for Manhattan on Wednesday, the agency cracked down on persistent toll violators at the Queens Midtown Tunnel in Long Island City.

MTA Bridges and Tunnels seized 19 vehicles registered to persistent scofflaws on Monday and issued 81 summonses and confiscated two fraudulent incense plates. The MTA noted that the scofflaws accounted for approximately $483,000 in combined unpaid tolls and fees. One of the top persistent toll violators from the targeted enforcement owed nearly $76,000 in tolls and fees.
