Latest renderings of the Court Square Tower, to be tallest building in Queens, revealed

Source: Hill West

Jan. 6, 2017 By Hannah Wulkan

The first detailed renderings have been released for the new Court Square tower that, once built, will be the tallest building in the borough.

The new skyscraper at 23-15 44th Drive, called the Court Square City View Tower, will rise to 66 stories, dwarfing the nearby Citi tower at One Court Square, which is currently the tallest building in the borough at 50 stories tall.

After several varying plans for the height of the building since plans were filed in 2016, the finalized renderings show the building will have 66 floors with a total of 802 units. Architecture firm Hill West claims it will be the tallest building in Queens, taller than the Clock Tower development project that is expected to be about 70 stories.

The real estate website 6sqft. was first to report on the updated renderings.

The mixed-use tower will have retail on the first floor, and residential units in the floors above. It will feature panoramic views of Manhattan, with a pool on the third floor and a residents terrace on the fifth floor.

It will also have other amenities that are standard in luxury apartment buildings, including a gym, sauna, spa, and yoga room.

The exterior will be mostly glass, using neutral blue glass on the broad faces and clear green glass on the edges, giving the building depth.

The tower is currently being built and is expected to be finished by 2018.

Once units go on the market, listings can be found at https://www.cityrealty.com/nyc/long-island-city/court-square-city-view-tower-23-15-44th-drive/76014.

Sc you should live in Manhattan if you love it so much. Don’t gentrify and overbuild without proper planning especially in infrastructure LIC and other neighborhoods.

Cannot wait to get a place here, watch netflix and order seamless. Look at me, I’m a real-life new yorker!

I want to live right next to midtown Manhattan and never see any uptick in development! If and when that inevitably happens, I’d like to whine endlessly about how it’s ruining the character of the neighborhood. Could somebody point me in the right direction?

Ted, maybe the retail space will be filled. Just like the Dept. Of Health Building at Queens Plaza and Jackson Ave. retail space has been empty since being built. What will the rents be for the retail space? That is the key.

Stupid Minds. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

This is actually out of scale with the tower next to it. And of course all of those old apt. buildings and warehouses in the vicinity of that blade runner tumor.

The large 1st floor should provide a lot of much-needed retail space. Who knows, we may even get a Duane Reade. . .

Hmmm

Duane reade is supposedly taking space in The Hayden by Rockrose
Considering they have Duane reade in 4705 Center Blvd this shouldn’t come as a shock nor surprise to anyone

Another bland glass tower.

I’m sure there will be plenty of commenters trumpeting the height; however, there is one way to get at least some of that community support back… Incorporate an improved 7/E/M subway entrance with direct, in-system access between the two platforms. The cost would be minimal, when compared to the benefits, and it would help to alleviate the death trap that currently occurs during rush hours at the only 7 platform access point.

JVB, I hope you’re taking notes.

There’s already an entrance that does that but the 7 train platform is still a death trap. With this building and all of the current and upcoming development, the E/M platform will also become a death trap. It has nothing to do with added entrances- there are just too many people.
