Sept. 28, 2016 Staff Report

A CVS/pharmacy will be occupying the ground floor retail space at Hunter’s Point South Commons, according to published reports.

The drug store will be occupying more than 11,000 square feet of the ground floor space at 1-50 50th Avenue, according to the Commercial Observer. The space represents most of the 13,500 square foot retail space in the building.

Frank Monterisi, a senior vice president of Related, told the Observer that CVS is likely to move into the space by the end of the year. The store’s frontage will be along Second Street.

“I think CVS was very strategic in that they saw a great location,” Monterisi told the Observer, noting that the Hunter’s Point South development will include 5,000 residential units upon completion.

Hunters Point is currently served by Duane Reade, located at 47-02 5th Street, as well as some independent pharmacies.

Related aims to sign on a restaurant operator for the remaining 2,500 square feet of space. This space faces the park.

I think our overpriced unnecessary organic food need is being met by Food Cellar. Let’s get more basic requirements out of the way first.

I love the supermarket that is also in this neighborhood but it’s WAY too expensive. This neighborhood is all about wealth.
